Ken Perlin is a very interesting animator and a great coder. His Java applets are simply amazing. It seems that everything he hears, sees, or comes in contact with he can reproduce perfectly in a java applet. What’s also so great about his work is that it’s very interactive and he’s not just showing off his talents but also wants to user to be a part of the process of his learning. My favorite applet is probably the Emotive Virtual Actors probably because of how much the user can define parameters and decide what the actors do. It’s also very realistic and seems like the sort of program that could be used (the basis) in creating virtual animated characters in a movie or show. Rudolph is also very fun!
